One way is age because it doesn't really target one age group. This means that anyone can relate with the advert so it is easier for them to get their message across. People can say that the girl isn't included in this but she is as other little children can learn to stay safe without parents as well. 1) Watch this clip from BBC Question Time with Russell Brand and Nigel Farage. The BBC deliberately placed the two against each other and the episode resulted in far more people watching and tweeting than usual. What examples of  binary opposition  can you suggest from watching this clip? The two opposition Russell Brand & Nigel Farage are discussing about if there is a problem with our immigration policys. Nigal Farage has a very right wing approach and blames the immigration's for all the problems faced by the country because of it. He says that because of the rapid increase in immigration's; primary schools would be full so there aren't enough places for other children, GPs would have longer queues for doctors, harder to get around places because of the high population. Audience Pleasures: The Battle of the Christmas Advert

1) Which do you think is the most appealing and why? Try to use some of our audience theory in your answer.  In my opinion, the M&S is the moat appealing. This is because we create a bond with the little kid and feel that we know him as a friend. I also think that having Santa Claus in the video allows the older generation to reminisce about childhood. In addition, it shows us that Christmas bringing families together which the audience meant be looking forward to.
