Representation blog task






1) List the different people/groups represented in the trailer (men/women/Americans etc.)
From the clip we can tell who the hero is as we generally stereotype superhero to have some sort of suit they wear when fighting the villain. The women we see,Morena Baccarin, acting as Copycat, is a women that is used as a helper to assist Deadpool to get better. At 54 seconds, we see the false hero that tells the hero he can be helped. At 1.11, we see a female as one of the villain.

2) For each group, decide whether the representation is a dominant or alternative portrayal.
3) What stereotypes can you identify in the trailer?
The main hero Deadpool is wearing a red suit which is dominant portrayal as we Geneally stereotype superhero to have some sort of suit they wear when fighting the villain. 
Morena Baccarin, acting as Copycat, is represented as a dominant portrayal as we stereotype women to be the kindhearted and be very supporting. It also show us that old traditional women that always helps the other sex.
The female that appears at 1.11 is a alternative portrayal as we mainly don't see women in the villain role. This show that women can have a good as well as a bad side and play different roles in movie except the helper and princess. We also see her in 2.39 where she beats on of the helpers that is a male. We don't really see a women as a violent character in movies because they are stereotyped  as being innocent and nice.
It also has a girl texting at 2.41 that as both dominant and alternative portrayal as we see her texting, which most teenagers do, but also see her being violent which we don't normally link with teen girls.

By using darker colours , it make the audience feel that something is hidden to create mystery . It can also show the he is negative because black is linked with his mood.  You could say the black absorbs light and say he is learning from mistakes or that 50 cent doesn't emitted anything so he keep a lot of thing to himself. Using a simple black and white colour scheme make the consumer think more about his life and how simple it was when he was a child.  The close up show us that he is being personal. In addition, the font used is a typewrite to show what he learnt before technology.  Furthermore, fingerprint can show us that he has done a lot of crime in his time to become who he is now. My own power point, www: I had a handout that had good information that could intrigued the audience. It allowed the audience to have something to take from the presentation so they can use it when revising.  The starter involved the audience when so that the lesson started in a good mood and where more interested afterwards. I spoke about what they own and what they use their money on so that the audience knows how the company became more powerful. EBI I could of asked question to the audience so they could interacted with me and i could of made sure that the lesson was meaningful. This make sure that they take something away from the lesson.  explain the slide more so that the audience knew everything on screen. have a better ending so that the audience could of had a overall coclusion to finish the lesson.
